Summary
Under the direction of the Land Supervisor, this position will be responsible for land- d c ivi i wi hin h comp n ’ c po i ion. Th po i ion wi h v h v focus on title, well-planning and regulatory. Prior Texas experience is a requirement. The Landman should anticipate a request for availability during business hours as well as in-office work at our headquarters in Houston, Texas with remote flexibility. This position is a contract-to-hire role.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
• Responsible for land work to include evaluating title (i.e. review of title abstracts, title opinions, evaluation and prioritization of curative, etc.).
• Contribute to clearance to drill (Land) after analysis of title opinions, coordination and delivery of curative.
• Reviews planned locations for drilling, able to identify material agreements, contracts, regulations, and schedules to confirm wellsite locations and report to Land Supervisor and integrated asset team.
• Excellent working knowledge of the land function within an integrated asset team that includes Engineering, Geoscience, Legal, Regulatory, and Midstream.
• Communicate timely with Land, Operations, Engineering, Geoscience, Accounting, Legal and Midstream with issues that may include operations decisions and potential planned targets.
• Responds, interacts and professionally represents themselves and CLIENT with co-workers, working interest owners, private landowners, consultants, etc.
• May provide support in the areas of division of interest setup, including but not limited to, calculation and maintenance of company working and net revenue interest.
• Basic understanding of managing field brokers on all facets of Land work, including budgeting, and cost tracking
• Working knowledge of lease forms and negotiations with mineral owners
Required Skills & Abilities
• Prior experience in operated oil and gas assets including expertise with planning, staking and permitting wells, drill clearance with prior experience (in-house) operations in the State of Texas.
• Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group to achieve project-related goals.
• Knowledge of applicable county, state and federal regulatory rules and procedures.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment independently or with little supervision. • Strong PC skills including MS Office Suite, ArcGIS and Quorum. • Good verbal/written communication, organization and time management skills. • Ability to review, make recommendations, and implement workflow processes
Education & Experience
• B ch o ’ d P o um L nd M n m n , En M n m n , Business, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of in-house, broad-based working experience in traditional landman/land negotiator roles, or other relevant experience
• Solid knowledge of land management principles required. • Experience in unconventional reservoir development preferred. • Must have strong project management skills.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations
• Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and/or local Landman Association membership.
• AAPL designation (RPL, CPL) is preferred.

• This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work
within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses
standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing
cabinets, etc. This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be
able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full
shift.
